Is it normal to feel nervous around new people

I'm a 20 year old male and I'm heading to a nightclub/gay bar tomorrow but I always feel nervous around New people. I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone and out of the house I'm just nervous I might screw things over with someone or my anxiety will make me look like a fool or something. I've been planning this for a week and I'm freaking out a bit.

Normal, I was so nervous on my first day at work. But then as you get familiar with the new people and the new environment, you get along fine...

  • Being nervous to varying degrees is wired in the human brain. It makes you aware of your surroundings and guides the fight or flight reaction.
It’s normal, so calm down and be yourself and have a good time, you’ll be fine. Most ppl in nightclubs eventually make fools of themselves and nobody remembers.

Normal. It's hardwired into us to not trust new people until we find we can trust them. Survival techniques aquired from our distant ancestors.

Definitely normal. That's how I am like and I know that many others are the same.

Take it slowly, don't have unrealistic expectations about making new friends of finding a sexual partner. If you get nervous once there, step back out of the crowd and check out how many other people are also looking a bit nervous or covering it up, you won't be the only nervous person there.

Good on you for going outside your comfort zone.

Alcohol can sometimes help. Just be moderate with the amount.
