I was in a similar situation, and felt like I entirely wasted a year. I messed up my uni choice first time round, ended up having to wait a year before applying again, and was stuck in the same boring routine, trying to get a job in retail (just like you, nothing around). Also didn't have a car. I lived with students but they all moved out and went home for the summer so I was stuck in a tiny town with barely any friends just waiting to start over and actually do something constructive.
The good thing about university / college courses is it's the opportunity to meet new people with similar interests, and often their passion is infectious; you'll find yourself inspired and motivated (if you're on the right course) and it should help fuel your creativity and desire to achieve something.
I really hated the times in that year being in an empty house, with nothing to do and nobody to do nothing with, chewing time and going mad. Fuck wasting another year ever again, we've only got so many right?
IIN to feel like i wasted a year?
