Is it normal to feel irked if someone you dislike likes the same music you do?

Say that you overhear someone you dislike trying to hum/sing/play compositions that you enjoy. I understand that this is likely irrational but is it normal to feel displeased?

for me, i think lowly of the people i hate, so when i find out they like the same music as i do, i think "i stooped down to their level" and that's why i get irritated
