Is it normal to feel horribly anxious by someone like this

I have finally met a decent man compatible with me but ive never felt so unhappy. I'm so stressed. We have dated for 7 months. Three days ago he started to ask if we are going to have sex which was quite odd seeing as he's kept a distance to me all this time whenever we're alone, and only begged to kiss me when people are watching. I told him that I have no desire to sleep with him at this time and he asked me if its leading to a friendship or a relationship and I told him I cant tell.

A big unattractive issue with this guy is his attachment to his mother.
We have to adjust to his mother because he needs a ride home with her and I have to sit and wait for his mother with him like he's a teenager... Ive asked him to stay longer and he went "mom will get mad"...
He claims she wants to give him a ride but if that were true he could say no thanks and take the bus like a normal adult. I take the bus and bus rides literally gives me migraines. Plus he lives alone so there is zero reason for her to always know his every move. He also has no personality. He agrees with whatever I say. When I disagree with him he changes his opinion to the same as mine. He morphs to whatever he thinks i'll like and he has this sort of dead-eyed look that freaks me out sometimes.

We have barely texted lately. I've had a lot on my plate. I've been unwell and very miserable even though everything else in my life is great as my life has really turned for the positive lately. Him being in my life ruins it though and stresses me out. He's very needy too ever since date 2 when he started talking about having to see me all the time.
I do wish I could feel something for him but I completely lack emotional connection. I even at times feel sick thinking about him, very anxious.
I dont know what causes such repulsion in me but something about him does feel very fake. No one else have ever caused such strong negative reactions in me. It's far beyond him just not being my type. I've tried dating men not my type before and it was fine, just didnt work.
