Yeah, agreed with some of the others. You bond with someone all the way across the country, or even someone 2 states away. You learn to just trust them, and looks don't matter, and you gain feelings. I've been through it so many times. You also realize the douche bags you live around don't compare to the people you meet online.
Basically, long distant people you fall in love with feel more special than a lot of things.
