Is it normal to feed your dog white rice and chicken broth when theyre sick? Its very healthy, and usually it helps with puke. My friend said its weird, IIN?

    Pretty sure I read that was a good idea, at some point. As long as your dog doesn't have a reason to be grain free, and the chicken broth is low sodium.

    Rice is okay. Homemade chicken broth, or just plain chicken. Canned broth you get from the store has preservatives and lots of sodium.

    I'm not an expert on dogs, but I think I'd be a little concerned about the salt in the chicken broth. If it's homemade and nothing more than boiled bits of chicken, I can't imagine how that might be bad for him and the meaty aroma would encourage him to eat. But if it's broth from a can or a cube, that usually has quite a bit of salt.
