Is it normal to fall in love with an inmate?

I grew up with Wes... We dated once. At a young age he got mixed up in a brawl and killed a man. He's been in prison now 20 yrs. He will be released in two more. I have written endless letters, visited, sent money etc. His mom told me last yr not to post on her fb. She said a lady was stalking her so to only pm her. Sceptical I posted on one of her post, told her to tell Wes I loved him. Moments later a girl named Kelli messages me wanting to know who I was. Now after I blew up, Kelli and Wes are an item. I still think of him/cry over him daily. I can't get him outta my head. Am I crazy to have fallen in love with an inmate?

    Everyones comments are righton..Get over it Unless u have some mentally issues and feel.less about urself then u would fall for a.person like this.He has moved on and has used you. And he doesnt have interest in u which u should be grateful for he is doing u a favor. But then again women fall for men like that If u value ur self worth u will have higher standards for ur self.

    To fall in love with a convict is worse than falling in love with a blind dog. Twenty years with other men, he probably give better head than you. I almost bet when he passes gas it makes no sound. You are asking for trouble. An old girlfriend will get out next months for killing a man over a joint. She wrote me about the things that goes on after the lights go out. She is still a friend but not any where near what it takes to stay straight according to what she told me in the last letter as soon as she gets out she plans on sticking up a liquor store, then sit down, drink the best liquor that in the place till the cops get there. She want to go back to be with her partner.
