Is it normal to faint from seeing gore

I am not really grossed out by it but when someone cuts open a cow or something in a movie I always imagine doing it to myself. It is not really scary either, I just think 'oh I am gonna fall unconcious' and just wait for it to happen...
I tried numbing myself to it but it does not get bettter.

Movie gore is bearable. But real gore is too real. I avoid it.

I mean I would get it if you see a human disfigured and gutted but an animal, even such as the staple foodstuffs? Its gross but either face reality of what you are eating or deny what you eat... or become an annoying vegan that's always an option.

I don't think your reaction is all that uncommon. We're hard-wired by evolution to find some things disgusting, and I guess being blasé about seeing blood - particularly your own - wasn't something that made it more likely for our ancestors to survive. Who knows? Maybe we all had at least a few ancestors who survived encounters with predators by playing possum when Aunt Ug had a chunk of her leg removed by a saber-toothed cat.

My mother-in-law is hyper-sensitive to blood. She's passed out when doctors have drawn blood from her arm, a scene like you describe in your OP would definitely give her a funny turn, and she gets upset if anyone even mentions blood.
