Is it normal to experience a vertical shift of consciousness from taking dmt?

Once I drank a lot of ayahuasca and I ended up blacking out three times in about 20 minutes. Each time I felt like I'd been dreaming for years, but when I woke up less than a minute later I couldn't remember what I'd dreamt. After the third time I noticed that my whole consciousness - my ego I suppose - felt like it was about an inch or two lower than it normally was. I felt like I was observing everything from a lower vantage point, like the core part of me was closer to the earth even though I was the same height. Anyone ever have a similar experience with DMT or other psychadelics? By the way, this was one of the most enlightening and amazing nights of my life.

  • All psychedelics should change your life, if it doesn't it wasn't a good trip hahaha.

Never tried DMT, however i likely will in the future.

  • Not exactly, but I had a similar experience. I smoked DMT with my boyfriend and noticed during my trip that I felt taller and reality was speeding by me. I really noticed it when I was crossing a street. When the cars went by, I felt that I was looking at them from higher up than I actually was and their lights were going by like in Star Wars when the go into light speed. It was crazy.
