I think it is very normal for couples to have this fantasy and many even act on it. However, what I don't think is normal is that couples are willing to share their thoughts on the subject for fear of what they think others will think. My wife is very conservative. She was turned on by the thought, but was afraid to act on it even though she was constantly being hit on by other men. Finally, I found a man to hit on her at a very public location. She acted on it and our marriage has never been the same. It is awesome for her as her self esteem is sky high. I am constantly turned on by the thoughts. We are safe, considerate, and respectful of each other in this lifestyle but I would say it has added so much to our marriage.
