I've started getting into - very kinky! - fan fiction of characters from my favourite anime series. I enjoy it but then feel embarrassed and dirty after reading it.
The same goes with any other erotica (But not 50 Shades of Grey or anything of that ilk; I could barely read one page of the first book in the series).
My dirty secret is slash and rule34... I am a ''cartoonophile" no joke, i love and crush on cartoon guys more than i ever have real guys.. I even draw my own rule34. so I would say fanfiction is more on the safer side than that :P
This seems like a double question.
I'd say enjoying erotic fanfiction is probably quite normal. I read and sometimes write erotic (extreme fetish) My Little Pony fanfiction myself. I also know many others who do.
As for feeling dirty and embarrased, I really have no idea.
It probably depends on how prudish and sexually repressed you were raised to be. While you may not want to brag to your IRL friends and family about it, I see no reason to be embarrassed. What you do in private is nobody else's business.
I read fanfiction a lot. I don't feel bad after though. Unless someone randomly asks what I'm reading lol
Eh, not for me. I enjoy my fanfiction but I don't regret my choices.
I do, however have limits. Mainly in age levels. I fully enjoy older man/younger woman stories, but I draw the limit at underage.
So I'll fully enjoy some Wolverine/Rogue* or Snape/Hermione but... the women will be over the age of consent.
* hell w/r is what got me into fanfic to begin with. when i saw that movie i couldn't help but see the chemistry between the two of them.
Not all fan-fiction is erotic.
That being said, go ahead and enjoy it. As they said in "Meet the Feebles," "We're not all Pentecostal, but everybody's got an ass hole!"
I think it's perfectly normal to read erotic fan fiction, but I wouldn't feel ashamed about it. For me, it is just another form of pornography with the added pleasure of having the participants be characters that I already know, love, and find attractive.
Like any form of porn you shouldn't feel the need to let everyone in on your doings, and just like with pornographic videos it's normal to be embarrassed if someone catches you in the act. (Hell, I still find it awkward to watch sex scenes in movies with people in the room.) But don't feel ashamed or dirty, your sexual desires are completely normal :)
Im a writer I love doing boy on boy hehe, you shouldnt be worried about actually you can then creat your own stories, and then who knows? Maybe your the next author of 40 shades of grey or whatever the name is..You know what im talking about.

yeah, i like erotic fanfics, cause i can visualise the scene in my head and yes, its hotter than the pics. Lesbian sex is especially hotter this way.
I have recently started getting off to erotic fan fiction as well, not with anime tho, usually just two girls from a favourite tv shows having a secret lesbian relationship. I.e Cercie and Sansa from Game of Thrones ;)

I know how it is. I kinda like those mary-sue fics even if they are ridiculous, and I'm quite embarrassed because of it haha
