Is it normal to eat chicken pho every day?

Several weeks ago, I started trying to lose weight and began using an app that journals everything I'm eating. I also spontaneously began eating Chicken Pho almost every day for dinner. (I cheat a little however and use angel hair protein pasta instead of rice noodles.)

Basically, I figured out that if I make pho with chicken, broth, sweet potatoes, sweet peas, cilantro, cabbage, asparagus, lime, green onion, garlic, jicama, and onion I can reach my daily required intake of Vitamins A and C, get a good amount of fiber and protein while being very low in fat, as well as promote good gut health all with this meal.

Regardless of what I eat for breakfast and lunch, are there any potential drawbacks or negatives to eating chicken pho daily health-wise?

Not taking into account breakfast and lunch, this seems like a good meal. The only drawback would be high levels of sodium, being a broth based meal. But since it's homemade pho, I guess you got it covered. Bon appétit.

    • Yeah, the sodium is the one thing. I've been going over the daily goal but it hasn't been ridiculous

Question is, do you reach your sodium rda with this meal alone? Guess you can try and google some low sodium broth recipes. Or you can have this meal every other day.
Good luck with your weight loss and don't forget to add exercise.

        • No, it's not this meal alone, but it tends to be after all meals combined. Yes, I've been playing around a bit with meal planning and seeing how I can space it out. I do use reduced sodium broth also. Right now, I'm recovering from surgery so can't exercise but I will be in a couple months or so. Just getting my eating habits down first and trying to keep my calories around 1700. I appreciate it

Sodium does not hurt you. Sugar does
We gave salted meats forever. Ice cream and surgery drinks is the problem

I dunno, but it sounds good. I haven't had phở in so long that it's borderline tragic. I feel sad in my heart to know that I lived in a city like Houston, and never had any Vietnamese food... meh.

You would be the type of person who lived in Huston.

I dunno what that is supposed to mean, but I'm proud of my hometown.

    • I wouldn't think of Vietnamese when I think of Houston, but as big as it is I guess there's some of everything

There's a huge Vietnamese population in Houston, Texas! Houston is actually more diverse than New York City with regard to population.

        • Hmm...interesting. I feel like I may have subconsciously knew that already but maybe it's just been so long since I've thought about Texas. I have some family who lives in Houston, but I live 12+ hours away so I don't see them that often. But that is surprising you lived there and never had any VNM food if they are that prevalent

            • How long did you live there? I'm trying to think of what area we were in if I could even tell you. I think there was like a Jamba juice or smoothie king near a sports haircut men's place lol

I read that as "chicken poop".

Knock yourself out if that’s what you choose to do. But it is unhealthy to eat chicken three meals a day.

    • I only eat chicken once a day. The pho is once a day. And I usually only eat 8 oz of chicken at most in one day

I ate it once. It was a massive bowl and I was hungry as soon as I stopped eating it. What a silly food, but great ingredients.

    • Must have been a small order. I've never had it with rice noodles so that may make it less filling on its own. It was much more filling once I started adding sweet potatos

Unless they have larger than massive, it wasn't a small order. Yes I am guessing rice noodles aren't as filling.
