Is it normal to eat burnt toast with raw egg white on top?

I sometimes like to eat some black burnt toast with one serving of egg white raw. I think they go well with each other but my family is put off by it.

I can't be bothered to Google and give you a cite, but I recall reading that researchers found recently that charred food - including toast - contains chemicals that are known carcinogens.

Raw eggs are a notorious source of salmonella. If you live in the UK, then eating raw egg is supposedly okay, since egg-producers have robust measures to prevent salmonella in eggs. However, that's not the case in other parts of the world, including the USA where the CDC advice is that raw eggs should not be eaten.

  • Who doesn’t do at least one weird thing as a food combination some may see as gross. At least yours doesn’t sound super bad I can think of a lot worse.

Do you wanna get salmonella? Because that's how you get salmonella.

Meh, I did worse. Back when my mind wasn't right, I used to mix raw eggs with grape juice and drink it.
Edit:I'm not saying you're not right in the head btw. XD
