Is it normal to date somebody you don't like and younger?

This is my first discussion post.

I am 18 and I recently learned that a girl, who is 15 likes me. Now she does look good, but I don't really have any feelings for her. Now my brain is stupid and in a few days will start giving the sign that I like her. So is this normal, to get into a relation with a young girl which I didn't originally like?

I got into a relation with my ex in the same manner (though she was only a year younger)

Note, that I won't get into any sexual relation.

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • I would consider this a bad choice. If you don't like her, then there must be another reason for dating her. Pity? Loneliness? Empathy? What is the real reason? Once you have the true answer, start judging. Do you value this reason more than you value your own comfort in a relationship? Would you be happy this way? Does this opportunity really give you what you are looking for? If in doubt, your guts might give you an accurate answer. It must be either Yes or No, cannot be in-between. Choose carefully.

    • Thank you so much. I think I am doing this because of loneliness. I don't think I would be happy. This answer is amazing, should be made into a blog post

      So the answer is NO

      • This should also tell you that loneliness is already causing you trouble and can even push you into unwanted directions. You should take this into consideration and try to find a partner that suits your needs.
