Is it normal to cry when something scares you?

Whenever someone or something startles me, I flinch and either start to cry or tear up. I feel over emotional and dramatic whenever this happens but I can't help it.

    How scary? How often? This sounds like "exaggerated startle response," a symptom of anxiety.

    It's normal, as long as it's not happening all the time.
