Is it normal to cover my freckles with makeup then draw them back on?

So i have freckles on my face and i started doing makeup about 6 years ago and i have gotten really good at it, but i notice when i dont wear makeup is when people compliment how much they like them. so i practiced drawing faux freckles on so that i can still wear all my makeup and have freckles. But now, people think i'm always faking my freckles and some comment asking me if they're real and i say that i have them but i draw them on because of the makeup and they look at me like im crazy or something.. should i even bother?

Freckles are really attractive on a woman IMO , Like incredibly attractive. although mostly because its a feeling of natural beauty, so if you are falsely putting them on Im not so sure how natural they'd look, I bet id still think they were pretty though.

You do you, baby! I wish I had some freckles, but I don't. I used to wonder why both my parents have some freckles, but I have almost none, but I think it's because I never go out in the sun, and I always use sunscreen when I do. My folks on the other hand met on the beach in Panama when my dad was stationed in the Canal Zone.

Why even draw them up if you are covering them in the first place. This is from a guys perspective so we really don’t care if you wear makeup or not, at least I don’t care.

    Make the freckles more realistic.

I assume you're doing this for ease/time saving - IE, your foundation covers the freckles anyway when you apply it, and then you draw them back on, because you can't cover around them because they are so small?

Try only using foundation on the patches of skin which aren't freckly. Leave your freckle patches completely bare.

If you aren't able to do this because of the colour change between foundation/bare skin then this means you are wearing the wrong colour foundation. You should be able to only put foundation on the patches of skin that need it. I recommend watching some Lisa Eldridge videos - she's fantastic at this sort of thing, and is actually extremely well qualified unlike self taught beauty bloggers you find on YouTube. (Although I believe that Lisa has now started to upload her content into youtube as well)

I disagree. As a person who has very red skin in the face, I have to cover my entire face in foundation. If I leave any spots without it, there is a definite color difference. Obviously, I don't know if this person has red skin, but if they do it would look awkward to leave red patches on their face.

My skin is only red in patches, which is the bits that I cover up if I'm bothering to wear make up that day.

But yeah, if OP happens to have rosacea or something then this wouldn't work. It was just a suggestion though, hopefully helpful to her.

Natural freckles are so beautiful! Why would you want to cover them up in the first place? You crazy.

    Natural > Drawn

    EMBRACE THOSE FRECKLES!!!

Here's the secret sis: do your makeup however you like. That's literally it. Have pride in what you do and keep doing it.

This is coming from another makeup person that has gotten shit for "hiding my beautiful blue eyes" behind colourful shadows.

  • I've seen girls who wear thick makeup daily and they look gray and sick when they can't.

There's more beauty options than makeup, you could moisturize and exfoliate. I met a girl the other day who had a good body and a decent face, good fashion sense. But I could see the makeup crack on her forehead and the pores on her cheeks. To me it seemed that she was hiding an insecurity in her looks, especially the way in which she looked at me without makeup.

I'm not saying this is you, but people only have so much to go on when they meet new people. You should do you, but it's important to not become lost in the masks we wear.

Imo natural makeup styles look way better.
