I caught my younger sister masturbating. She is 14 years old. Her bedroom door was open because she thought no one was in the house, but she didn't hear or see me. Now we are a very religious family and this kind of behavior is frowned upon. If I told our parents about this they would definitely freak out and punish her. As a responsible older brother I always look out for my sister's best interests. I know that her actions are wrong and immoral but I understand that she is a teenager with raging hormones and that she has biological needs. I am so conflicted as to how to handle this situation. I want to tell someone but I don't want her to feel guilty. And if I don't tell then I will feel like I am living with a big heavy rock on my shoulder.

    Here's what you should do.

    Keep your mouth shut. Masturbating is a private affair, and it's healthy and normal. You don't need to tell anyone. Why be a little snitch? I'd like to know exactly what religious laws prevent you from masturbating.

    Besides, she's your sister. Siblings have to look out for each other. I've always kept my brother's secrets from my parents, and he does the same for me. So how about you chill out and let her go through puberty like a normal teen.

    Dont tell anyone else and dont even tell her you even know, preferrably. all that would do is embarass her. maybe after you see the world a little more youll see that things like this are unimportant. and good lord dont get her in trouble with parents for something so stupid like that. id certainly hope they wouldnt punish her for that..

    You shouldn't tell anyone that would not only make her feel bad (I mean at this point she already does feel guilty) but I'd recommend you sit down with her and tell her that she should be more careful next time. This would clear off things with you as well
