Is it normal to call cops, cps on neighbours for honking horn kids playing?

They also have an retarded looking dog that BARKS. They honk the horn three times for the kids to get in the car for school. We are retired and hate loud noises. We have called the police several times before and the police thinks we are being ridiculous. I called the ex husband and he made a scene and now the wife has a restraining order against us , and him! I feel the kids purposely thump the ball louder just to be obnoxious. I also called cps several times , they recognized my voice and said that making a frivolous report is a crime. I have been blasting Sinatra in my car at three a.m. , and someone called the police on me.

Stupid ass hole. Everyone has the right to live a quiet life. It sounds like this couple got stuck with ass hole neighbors who have no respect for other people.

You crazy old timers, just turn your hearing aids down.

Or why don't you both move into a nice retirement home. Then you can both enjoy your 'golden years', sucking on Werthers originals, bickering with each other and watching as much wheel of fortune, Angela Lansbury and Dick Van Dyke as you like, in peace.

Unfortunately society does everything to excuse children and people with kids. Try throwing a tantrum at a supermarket checkout counter, or screaming hysterically in a restaraunt when the food came. You be at the very least asked to leave.

The cops will cite you if you continue calling or if you make the same exact noises as your neighbors. It sucks, it's unfair, but it's normal.

    Stupid damn kids.

    • Kids hold no blame. It's their weak parents allowing or evem encouraging them to act like that. A good parent knows how to control and educate their kids. I feel so good when I see educated kids who don't act incontrollably, and I can't help but also notice that their parents are capable of leading them in the right direction.

my next door neighbour honks the horn loudly to make her elderly mother hobble outside and lift open the garage door for her, while she sits waiting in her car watching the poor elderly lady struggle to open it. i totally understand your annoyance, everytime i hear the honk it honestly makes me so mad not only because of the noise but also because it's rude!

Don't retaliate that will make things worse. Try playing some music until it drowns out the obnoxious noise.

I lived next to a guy in an apartment that would blast his TV at all hours of the night. One early morning I heard nothing. I went and tried his door and it was unlocked! I went and got my wire cutters and very gently pried the backing enough to get at the power cord inside the TV and cut a tiny bit of the cord. From the outside it looked fine. I unplugged the power plug first of course. This was in the day of tube type TV in a wooden cabinet. I think he had come in late after a night of party and had forgot to lock the door. I didn't hear his TV for several days. Haha!

They don't even sound that loud. Get used to it. I live in the city near a hospital (ambulance), strip club(music and drunk people), main road (cars), collage and high school kid neighbors that do drugs/blast music, elementary school down the road (little screaming kids with irresponsible parents) and a loud ass church that plays drums down the street so I can't relate. I deal with load all the time so be glad you aren't where I live. If you want quiet move to the woods like my uncle and aunt and their kid. Houses are far apart.

  • I think the noise should be just as the law says. If it's bigger it's illegal and that's that. If cops don't help you and it is indeed illegal, try an alternative place to live.

We have had neighbours like that. Luckily their lease was terminated because of all the damage done to the property.
Some people just do not care or and can not be bothered about others. Common decent behaviour do not fit in their lives.

Move to a retirement community. These what they’re made for anyway...to live in peace & quiet. The rent/mortgage is cheaper there anyway
