    Most Chinese restaurants in the west are run by Hong Kongers. In Hong Kong, eating cat or dog is 100% illegal, and you can get into trouble for doing it. Don't expect dogs or cats to be on the menu of most Chinese restaurants.

        Anyways, the majority of Chinese restaurants run near me are Hong Kongese.

            Except that they already had the Hong Kongese culture ingrained in them. It had been illegal since 1950. That's over 60 years.
