Serious answer: I think it's okay to have some form of attraction to something you love, especially if you have an intimate connection -- like a pet. That being said, though arousal levels for the most part are involuntary, there's a difference between emotional and physical attraction. I think what you are describing is excitement or adoration from something you really care about. This is completely different from sexual desire.
