Is it normal to be unattracted to people who dont spell correctly at all times?

I find it really unattractive that especially out north in my country many people spell words how they pronounce them. To me it looks unintelligent, sloppy and immature and it's one of my biggest pet peeves but I might be biased because i'm a writer so language is extremely important to me.

I can't stand it to the point where it can make me lose interest in a person entirely plus part of getting to know someone is texting each other and I can't help but to feel someone who spells sloppily is arrogant and lazy or just plain dumb and often they do turn out to be dumb and not know very basic things. One guy flat out said he had a low IQ and asked me if that's bad. I guess there's nothing wrong with that but you've gotta be allowed preferences. Of course I don't mind dyslexia, that's a disability while being too lazy to spell right or not respecting language isn't.

    Let's see.... I was horrible in spelling... and a Jr High teacher told me my spelling would improve if I read a lot of books. So, I read virtually every book in the Jr. High library (likely several thousand) and it did not improve my spelling.

    In high school the last spelling test I took I got 49 out of 50... wrong; and the one I got right was obviously a guess. The teacher threw her hands up in the air and loudly announced "I Give Up!" No one doubted my intelligence... I was (and still dyslexic - and often rearrange letters - although I'm a lot better now at catching it).

    I went into the US Navy after high school because I did not have money to go to technical school or college. The US Navy (and perhaps all branches) have their own intelligence rating system. In my 4th year (as an E-5: 2nd Class Petty Officer) I was assigned to supervise testing of a select group of people on our ship. Many of these were people who had been kicked out of Nuclear Propulsion which you had to be a brainy nerd to even qualify for. As the test administrator I got to see the US Navy intelligence scores for everyone on the ship - including myself. I had the highest score on the ship.

    After the US Navy I went to engineering school at the University of Wisconsin - Madison and graduated with honors (less than 1% of engineers in that group)... and still could not spell many words (and I know my grammar is far from perfect).

    I can remember equations and a lot of technical facts I was taught 40+ years ago; even though some medical issues have reduced my ability to think as clearly as I used to.

    I use spell check a lot, and do my best. If I need to present something written that's important I hire someone to assist with grammar and spelling.

    The ability to spell is not a good sign of intelligence.

    Also, people with good social skills (Social Intelligence) far outperform people with good IQ when it comes to their ability to earn money.

    Disrespect me if you wish.... Just don't expect me to respect you if you do.

        Oh, thought you said " a country far north ". Where I live, people always seem to make that exact same mistake.

    I'm not a grammar nazi. I'm also dyslexic so I dont notice half the time.

    That being said I use autocorrect a lot (I use my phone to make posts) but since autocorrect saves the words I have trouble spelling it makes things go faster in general conversation.
