Yesterday two muslim extremists attacked the offices of the French magazine, Charlie Hebdo. They slaughtered 12 people for depicting the profit Mohammad in political satire.
I had NEVER heard of Charlie Hebdo, or their Mohammed cartoons, and neither had most of the world, I'm sure.
Now EVERYBODY has heard of the Charlie Hebdo Mohammed cartoons! I spent an hour reading English translations of them this morning, just out of curiosity.
Is it normal that these extremists are SO VERY STUPID that they can't see the lunacy of making world news of a tiny magazine and their inconsequential cartoons?
Very few people would have read the Salmon Rushdie book either, had they not made such a huge issue of that, too.
IDIOTS! FUCKING IDIOTS!

    They were Muslim extremists. The two that are alive, were radicalised by some jihadist group. These people aren't playing. The police knew about their ties for a decade yet, they did nothing!

      I don't quite get your point; "These people aren't playing.". I agree, killing 12 people isn't "playing" but what are you trying to say? Millions of people have now seen what only thousands had seen before this massacre.
      Isn't that counter productive to their aims?
      Stupid, stupid, senseless violence. I just do not understand the why on this one.

        What I meant is, that these extremist muslims take everything in regards to their beliefs too far. Some years back, a fashion designer had a collection that featured Arabic writing the pieces. This fashion designer ended up receiving death threats. Do you see what I am saying? Look at what ISIS is doing? ISIS even has a gang of women who punish women who don't adhere to their to their strict views of the Koran. They harmed an innocent woman who was breastfeeding her child in public. They take their laws/ideologies to the extreme. They'll make you feel their wrath if they feel that their religion is being disrespected.

          But if their wrath, as in this case, is counter productive to their beliefs, how can they justify that wrath? By attacking the magazine they have insured that these images of the prophet, which they find so distasteful, will be seen by so many more people. So they have failed to achieve their goal. They have failed their religious beliefs completely and basically given comfort to their enemies.

            They'll never see it that way. They aren't rational. They don't care. For extreme Muslims, the Jihad is the ultimate for them. They see it as the greatest thing that they can do in the name their religion.

            Now they are good Muslims. The police officers who got killed trying to protect the very people who ridiculed their faith and the Muslim man who worked in the Kosher deli and saved 15 people by hiding them in the freezer. They are heroes. However, most news has forgotten about them because, they don't fit the terrorist stereotype. It's sad.

          Again, you insist on lumping all religions and it's practitioners together as one. There's good seeds and bad seeds in everything. You shouldn't eat green potatoes because, they contain selenium. Does that mean that all potatoes are inherently bad for you? No. That's silly. Tomatoes and potatoes are both from the Nighshade family. They have dangerous realitives. Does that mean that you should avoid them because of their realitives? No. Again, it's silly.
