Is it normal to be so depressed that..

So, like a lot of people (I know I'm not special, so please don't be a dick), I've had major depression since I was 12 years old. I do take meds for it, but sometimes it doesn't work. I feel like I've been depressed for too long and so I'm beyond help. I can't afford to get A therapist so yeah. My girlfriend always tells me she loves me, but I feel empty inside. Sorry for this long-ass post, but is it normal to be so depressed that that it physically hurts and you feel like no one cares anything about you no matter what people say?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

No way to vote on this post... but yes it's normal. If you live somewhere you can get some magic mushrooms or truffles you might just be able to snap right out of it. Seriously. Do some research on it and if nothing else is working this just might. Not guessing about this. It's been a long time... but ask me how I know.

I agree with this whole heartedly. If it wasn't for psilocybin I'd probably be dead or at least in a much worse place than I am now. I could try to explain it but there are probably enough books and research about it already and they can do a much better job than me.

Ah OK didn't know about discussion posts. I'm new here.

How do I know? Been there, done that (one time), got the t-shirt. Now the t-shirt has a picture of a mushroom on it and says "Depression free for years and years" (but I'm guessing you already knew that). Strictly as a cure for depression, I'm a big fan.

How long did you have depression before you took the mushrooms?

several years. More than three less than five. It was pretty bad at times and I felt a lot like the OP is describing and a lot more. Had them in my freezer for a year or two but was scared to try it. Sure glad I did.

Yeah I've heard that hallucinogens can permanently improve mental illness. I'm glad that it worked for you.

How old are you? Depression will often get better as you get older. It's great that you have a girlfriend who loves you. Lots of people don't even have that.

You are very normal, feeling empty and unloved. You deserve better though. There are free helplines to call on these things such as the Crisis Hotline: Text CONNECT to 741741 or National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 1-800-273-8255
Get outside into the fresh air. Challenge your self with some exercise or take a day to live like your kid self would want. You are worthy of joy and love.
