Is it normal to be scared i could have a similar body as my mom

Well, me and my moms have similar body shapes. Mine is mostly apple-shape. I have 35.5 inch shoulders 34-36 bust (varies) 23-26 waist (varies) and 32-33 hips (varies) at 5'1. (notice I am short not average height which makes a difference too). I have a healthy body for my height (not too skinny or too fat) I first gain in my belly. A few months ago I was a b cup. Now, I am a small d cup. (not a fuller one, my breasts are fuller at middle and bottom and smaller at top and perky) I have a bigger upper body and smaller at hips. My belly has a bit of a pooch, sometimes I can push my belly out and make myself look pregnant. I'm scared of having my moms body when I am older, she is like a full DDD cup (she looks like that)with 45 waist and 47 hips. (she let me measure her waist and hips... she thinks she is curvy with big butt, she's just big, not curvy). We look similar in body shape but i have more of a smaller waist to hip ratio. And, I'm scared that when I get older, my bodys metobolisim will slow down and I'll be big apple shape like my mom. Is this normal to feel this way?

  • Trust me, i used ro fear this too! Just work out and eat right and theres no way you can turn out like youe mom. You dont just grow to be that way, yes your matabalism will slow down...but if you eat fruits and vegatable every day and do more than just sit around obn the couch you should stay in good shape. I know this what everybody tells you. But it actually makes a difference!!

  • You've got a HIGH chance of ending up like your mom. Genetics are powerful things and you CANNOT change them. That's why they are the best predictors of illness in families and stuff like that.

In fact, there's a saying men have "If you want to see what your woman's going to look like in 20 years, check out her mom". And that's enough to frighten some guys off, LOLZ.

  • to joybird: her face isn't ugly but her body isn't great. And, I'm 18. Yep, not 20 yet!

  • Be careful what you eat now coz it creeps up on you slowly!! I don't know what age you are but if you are under 20 you still aren't fully developed yet.

It's worse when you start to look in the mirror and see your nasty mother's face looking back at you!

  • You can always have the best body given your gentics that you can... so long as you try. Treat your body right and nothing weird should happen. Use the positive genetics you were given as an step up to look your best!

  • I'm so happy that I'm not morphing into my mom. I mean, she's my mom so she's cool, but I'm just happy I have a much different shape
