  • Yeah, it's normal. She was just always there as a certainty, going back to our grandparents' time. We naturally divide up time by the reign/term of monarchs and prime ministers and presidents, and so this is like the end of an era, 70 years long, much longer than any presidential term, and much longer than any other reign we'll ever know. So subconsciously it can be a little intimidating to realise that.

She was globally recognised, and few other celebrities have lived as long as her, and hardly any of those have remained active in their job all that time. I think Paul McCartney or David Attenborough would be the closest I could think of. Plus whenever we saw her, it was always positive, meeting with world leaders or at special events, fostering international relations and instilling hope in us that there'll be peaceful and prosperous times ahead.

Not to mention that she just seemed so nice, she was like a grandmother figure. I've never been a massive fan of the royal family (I didn't hate them like some people, but I didn't fawn over them either), but I've always liked the Queen.

    • The queen is an Anglican lying old bat who wouldn't know the truth about anything if it hit her.
