I can't see anything wrong with it and would most likely try it myself, but why would you feel obsessed with it? If it's an urge that is really controlling your life then you need to speak to your boyfriend about it. Either he lets you try it, or is happy for you to do it with someone else, or you split up. It's one of those three. Don't go and do it without his knowledge.
