Is it normal to be obsessed with cars from the 1970s?

There is just something about cars from the 1970s, especially american cars, that scream " Badass ". They just look so intensely intimidating with their huge size and boxy shape. I love them.

I like older cars (favorite's the 50's),they had that eccentric style to them. Almost all cars today look like electric shavers.

The description I heard a long time ago is 'jelly mold cars' (for American readers, 'jelly' is the British term for what you would call Jello).

      Perfect description of today's vehicles.

  • Back when cars used to be made to please the driver instead of whining environmentalists.

I feel the same about the cars from the 60's. Even badder than the 70's cars.

They're cool if you don't mind cars with a fuel efficiency measured in gallons-per-mile, rather than miles-per-gallon.

Back in the day, I had a friend whose pride and joy was a brand new 1975 Camaro. I couldn't see what was so great about it and I still can't, but then cars to me have always been about the cheapest and most comfortable way of getting from Point A to Point B.

Cars today look like glorified station wagons.

  • I think late 60s - mid 70s cars are awesome. But for completely badass, I'd have to go into the 80s with the Buick Grand National. It looks downright sinister.

Why not just get a pick-up truck?
