Anybody else getting advertising pop ups on some of these polls? Its fucking annoying and I got an ad blocker on too.
For the poll, nothing wrong with your way of motivation. For me, I taped a poster that reads 'Get out of bed you lazy fuck' to my ceiling above my bed. I throw pillows at it to make it shut up.

It really depends on YOUR weight.
Whilst I understand that you may not be able to "see" your own "obesity", and that seeing it in others and the guilt of relating to it is motivation, it may well be that you're not over weight at all.
I can't help, really, as I have no idea of your age, sex, body fat content, bra size, postal address etc.

sure it's normal I guess... but for me looking at smaller people is more of a motivator to get small, because looking at bigger people is like 'Well at least I don't look that bad!' it wouldnn't motivate me. I guess it's the way I think, if I see a skinny person it motivates me to try to look like them...

yes, it's perfectly normal because YOU feel better about yourself when you see people who are overweight. it's positive re-enforcement. when you FEEL thin, you will ACT thin and do the things that thin people do. when you look at pictures of skinny people and make yourself feel fat, you eat and do things that fat people do. DON'T feel guilty that you're taking pleasure from someone else's pain, instead feel grateful for what you have. "there but for the grace of God, go I" be thankful for the blessings you have, you're NOT to that point yet, and it's ok to feel good about it.

I understand where you're coming from. I once had an obese coworker, and I remember being appalled by the amount of junk food she ate (every meal was crap). It wasn't that it grossed me out per se - I mean it's her life right - but I saw her as an example of how NOT to behave.

Yeah its normal. In this it would work to the opposite effect that bodybuilders use. Some of them have picture of a ripped, muscular dude as motivation to build muscle "That is what I want to look like when im done!" In your case, it's "I dont want to look like that!". Great motivating tool.

If you find motivation in seeing pics of fat people then great. There's nothing wrong with it so long as it accomplishes your aims.
But I've never been motivated by seeing pics of others. It was only after seeing a pic of me fat as a kid that I gained the resolve to lose the weight.

Sure, if it does the trick for you (and you feel you need to lose weight). Although it crossed my mind that you're motivating yourself using others because you're not actually that overweight (and so can't use your own image).
Just be aware that it's your body that's the important one here.

Not normal. Motivation should come from within. Looking at large people is just a kind of a self-excuse. It is never considered that stress and depression are much more to blame for obesity than chocolate. As if the body switches for hibernation waiting for better times to come and the problem becomes worse. Loosing weight could be more successful when breaking the routine.
