Pretty standard stuff for someone with your background. It comes from feeling unworthy of a better relationship.
I you want to tackle the problem without therapy, try listing the things you feel are good about you and those you don't. If you are really honest, you might be surprised at how much longer the 'good' list is than the 'bad' one, and that should bolster your self esteem. Building on that should become a priority and in time things will turn around and you'll seek relationships with guys who treat you as you should be treated, not the loser types of before.
Just know that you are NOT your parents, and that you do not have to follow in their footsteps.
