I didn't say you did, but the fellow who suggested I was interested in banging altar boys did seem very offensive, as noted.
If I was to give specific reasons for my feelings, I feel that would be asking for trouble. I could give them, starting with the hypocrisy of so many adherents. Jesus said that to be his disciple one must hate their father and mother, brother and sister, wife and kids. I for one can't be a disciple of his. After his saying that, I don't even like the guy. Now people, go ahead and pounce. I have just denounced your "Lord".
I don't think the way you feel is abnormal at all. I personally see some hypocrisy in the church from time to time that I find myself unable to explain. However, feeling the way you do, and being open about it, will offend many people who are part of "the church". These people are usually the ones who are going to bash your opinions and "attack you", such as the alter boy comment.
