Is it normal to be 25 and have no interest in dating at all?

I'm 25 and although I've had two relationships in my teens and very early 20's, I've never had any desire to date since I left my last relationship at 21. No trauma or anything happened, I just have never felt any desire to try dating again. I've been much happier by myself than I was when I was in a relationship.

I have zero interest in dating or sex either one. I am on a medication for my health that is supposed to cause a loss of libido so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it (I've been on it for several years now), but the idea of dating or sex just does nothing for me.

    The ideal quarantine mentality!

There’s nothing wrong with feeling this way. Some people are asexual (no feelings of sexual attraction) and/or aromantic (no feelings of romantic attraction) but for others their lack of interest passes like a season. As you suggest this could be attributed to your medication.

Contrary to what rom-coms feed us, you don’t need a romantic partner to lead a fulfilled life. Enjoy the control over your life and not having the stress, drama and compromising that relationships bring.

It’s the meds. But you’ll probably get different responses on IIN bc this place is a playground for loners.

Good for you! If you don't have any strong desire for marriage, or children then you really aren't missing out on a lot. Oftentimes a relationship is more of a hindrance than a help in life, especially if one picks a partner from a position of excessive lust. When a person is very lustful, and infatuated he, or she apt to pick a partner simply based on sexual attraction with little to no regard for whether or not they're truly compatible with one another.

  • It's normal. I never had interest in dating or any other long-term relationships. Friendships, yes. Romantic, no. I even hate romantic movies and weddings.
