I have a minecraft server with a few of my highschool friends (started it with my bf). Lately one of the guys on the server started adding his college friends. Up until now, I assumed that they were all guys but found out that they were all girls.The fact that they are all girls doesn't bother me but I just wanted to know if other people assume that all people on the internet are guys until stated otherwise.

    My rule for internet. Everyone is Omnigender until proven otherwise. The internet is a alternate plane in which gender makes no difference, where it cannot but a point of discrimination.

    No ...I dont assume ....maybe its because im a girl and I play some online games sometimes.
    also I dont think I have had anyone think I was a guy before...since they hit on me and try to give me items and stuff.

    I assume everyone assumes I'm a guy online (not necessarily on sites like this though). I've said a guy on YouTube was cute once and got called gay, when I said I'm a girl they said that stands for "guy in real life" haha.. So I've given up, besides its more fun when people treat me like a guy..x)

    I would think that it would be normal to assume most or maybe all of them were men given it's more natural for guys to have male friends mostly and men make the majority of gamers. I also suppose that their MineCraft characters may of not been showing them as female?

    As for the internet in general, no, not normal to think that.

      their Minecraft character skin is not feminine but sometimes I think im a bit dyslexic because I didnt read her name as catears. I highly doubt that a guy would use that name but who knows

    For me, it depends on the website and the post or video or whatever I'm looking at. I always assume that everyone on writing sites like wattpad or fanficton are 13 year old girls.
