Is it normal to accompany my dad to the marine corps ball? (i'm his daughter)

Okay, so this is not some weird or creepy thing at all. It's just that my Dad wants to go to the Marine Corps Ball and my Mom does not want to go. So they asked if I wanted to go with him since he doesn't want go alone. I'm afraid it might look weird to other people. I know the old saying, "Don't pay attention to what other people think." But I'm curious, is this normal? I'm 19 and he's in his 4os so it would be obvious that I'm either his daughter or he's a cradle robber. Does anyone know if other Fathers take their daughters to the Marine Corps Ball?
What would you think if you saw a man with a young woman and they said that she was his daughter at the Marine Corps ball together?
Does this seem weird, disgusting, or inappropriate at all?
Please be honest, I'm open for any and all criticism.
It's just that my Dad really wants to go and I'd hate to not go and it turn out to be something normal after all.

    I think that's really nice. You sometimes see pictures of celebrities taking one of their parents or siblings or other relatives as their plus one to movie premiers and events. Why not?

    I think it's kind of cute how much you both want to go. As long as everybody knows that you're his daughter to doesn't sound inappropriate at all.

    you should go! it will be a nice opportunity to spend time with your dad and people wont think its weird. there will probably be other people there with their kids or whatever.
