My boyfriend recently applied for a job. He was told he scored highest on all the tests and was best person for the job, but did not meet the 'diversity' quota they were looking for. A few years ago the same thing happened where he was told he wouldn't be hired because although he was best for the job, they had to 'positively discriminate' against white people.
Equality is one thing, and is great, but even in the age we live in is shockingly rare. 'Positive discrimination' is still discrimination.
It's sickening he had to endure such ridiculous political machinations. He was basically being forced to give up, for something completely beyond his control.
What's even more ridiculous is those minorities probably didn't want the job to begin with and certainly wouldn't approach it with the same working attitude.
