Privilege isn't given away like a toy at Christmas, it's earned. If we keep trying to give it away it's just going to create angry people. Which is exactly what is happening.

Exactly. My family came here from Europe after slavery ended and very few of us have ever been on welfare and most of us work. I don't get why I have to explain this to every gay or black I meet. If I am so priveliged they should already realize this without me having to defend myself all the time.
And you shouldn't have to explain it. A great many people just don't get it and the don't get it because they don't want to. You owe them nothing and owe yourself everything. You shouldn't even have to be anonymous, but I understand wanting to. You get castigated for these "offensive " viewpoints.
It's also no surprise you came from Europe, my ancestors did as well. It's not a coincidence that there is a vast difference between European civilization and African.
What privilege? I'm just a normal person. Why is everyone else getting special rights and treatment while I get no special help? Where is my parade or white history month?
Thanksgiving is pretty heavy on the native American thing though. It used to be showing the glorious white role in founding the US and now we have to hear about all the supposed atrocities the settlers did and how Columbus didn't actually find America and whatnot so Thanksgiving is really a poor example. It more proves my point than yours.
Ok so the one holiday you can point out actually doesn't favor whites and it's just about money anyway. So again, where is my parade that is pure and not just a cash grab? Where is my awareness day or month?
What do you want to be acknowledged for? Being a part of the ruling majority? Why do you need acknowledgement? Are you insecure about your own validity as a human. Get over it dude. It's parade season, go join one.
