Is it normal this is preventing me from getting a job?

I'm 18 and I've never had a job before, the main reason being my repetitive thoughts and my obsession with age limits. For some reason you have to be 16 to work places, and even being older than that it bothers me. I feel like I'd be thinking too much on trying to find a good reason for the limit that I'd be distracted from my work. Any tips on how to get through this?

Sounds like you're going to extremes trying to find an excuse not to get a job. Better find alternate methods of supporting yourself.

Sounds like you're young and immature.

You'll either grow out of this thought process OR you'll enjoy being broke and without for a long time.
Seriously, for long term advice...don't worry about pay & try to work in a field you enjoy or would do anyways. You'll find yourself getting paid for things you woulda done for free & then nothing will feel like "work".

Look forward to living in your mother's basement until you're forty and then the Happy Home.

you have no marketable skills. they told you in sixth grade that in the future you would have to make your own job and all you did was play with yourself. If anyone needed you you would have a job already. ill probably wind up hiring you for next to minimum wage and train you like a monkey to do somthing mindless.
