Agree with this. It's a terrible thing to say to someone you supposedly love. Certainly people have preferences or misgivings but it is ridiculous to point out someone's flaws and say "I want someone better than you," then expect to stay in the relationship. There are so many better ways to approach this that it sounds like she is trying to wreck OP's ego, or for some reason provoke him to leave her instead of just leaving him. Maybe she is hoping he will say or do something she can use against him in family court.
