I had this one friend who said she used to be into polyamory. She asked me the weirdest question, she asked me where people learned to be selfish, and unsharing. I was like, it's not learned, it's innate. Yeah, I might share candy, or pizza, or something, but it's not normal to want to share your most prized posessions like a leather jacket, or a cashmere sweater. I'm not saying that a person is a possession, but I don't think it's normal to want to share a spouse, or partner. I guess other people are free to believe whatever they want, but I don't care for them to try to push that stuff on me.
