Wow I never knew that. Do they actually enforce that? Here in the UK it’s 18 or 16 in a pub or restaurant if you are eating a sit down meal. But to be honest it’s not very well enforced. They are stricter here than they were in my day but if youngsters know what pubs to go to they can start much younger. I never had a problem getting served from the age of 13 but that was in the 80’s. But even now there are pubs that don’t ask questions if kids are around 16 or 17 and they will often just use fake ID’s.
Wow that’s harsh. I think they would have major riots if they tried that here. 21 is considered well into adulthood here, although they did raise the age for leaving education from 16 to 18 about 7 or 8 years ago but at 21 most people have left home and could if they want be married with 2 or 3 kids by then.

I don't mind it, I hate alcohol/crowds/people, but I do think it's stupid that you can go to war or star in a porno at 18 but can't drink a beer & if anyone deserves a beer it's the 18 year old who was pinned down by sniper fire or was slapped in the face by 20 dicks.

You mean like leaving school? I know people here who dropped out of school when they were 13.

Most people I went to school with don't have kids & didn't move out until they were 23 or 25, hell I'm 26 & I still live with my grandmother on my mother's side but that's because I'm taking care of her after my grandfather died (pay half the bills, mow the lawn, clean the house, etc.) & I'll probably stay till she dies Since I have no need/want/reason to leave.
You can find bars here too that'll let you drink. You have to know someone though. Or make a fake ID like me and my friends did we were 16 buying alcohol daily. My friend was very good at making them. Wish I still had it.
IIN That you can go to war when you're 18, but not drink alcohol?

"where the hell do you live that has laws preventing 18 year olds from drinking?"
They are most likely talking about The U.S.A.
"What age are you allowed to drink alcohol?"
If I was right about it being U.S.A, then it's 21.
21 in the USA to drink

they won't let you in bars or clubs without ID proving you're 21 in most places here let alone serve you drinks.

If you don’t ID it could be someone who works for ABC and serving a minor is ridiculous fines and a loss of a liquor license for the business.
