Is it normal that when i have sex with my bf, i have the urge to get pregnant?

I'm a 25-year-old woman from Boston who has always had fairly normal long-term relationships. I'm an undergrad student who is currently looking for work, and my 28-year-old boyfriend is a student and computer engineer. We have been together for six months, have an amazing sex life, and neither of us is ready to get married or have children so we use reliable birth control.

Often when we are having sex, I have an instinctive sense that he is "supposed" to get me pregnant. Emotionally, I experience sex with him almost as though we are actually trying to conceive. It's like a "sixth sense" that we will have children together in the future.

When I was younger I used to wonder what it would be like to have a baby with someone I love- but I don't fantasize or entertain ideas about being married, pregnant, or becoming a mother anytime soon (frankly, babies scare me). I don't actually *want* to conceive at the moment, or in the near future. So, what could my instincts and feelings possibly mean? Is it normal, am I normal? Halp!

    Err it's natural but donnnt get preg. Too many bitches popping out kids left n right for no fucking reason. For chrissakes our world is already overrpopulated so fuck those urges and please use protection.

    it's normal bc the reason for having sex is to conceive a child so of course you're going to feel that way

    I believe this falls under the category of instinct. Sex is an act that we don't need to be taught, it's instinctual because we realise how around puberty. Sex's purpose in evolution is to reproduce, so it's perfectly normal to experience the primal, instinctual urge to procreate while having it.

    Your sensitive and have passion for your lover. Sex brings out many sensitivities ( like sixth senses) in different ways in all of us. There is something very enticing, I would think, about feeling like the act is going to possibly impregnate you. Nothing negative at all. Just your sensitivity. A good thing. Best of luck
