I feel your pain. This is the problem of affluence. We want don't know the true cost of our lifestyle and it creates waste. We want everything at our fingertips without working. Or we work and think that translates into an ability to be wasteful. We are entitled.
I hate the videos of people who destroy things just to see what happens. I can see the benefit of experimental destruction in a controlled environment to test the durability of a product, like crash test dummies in a car. But throwing a tv off the roof and onto a trampoline to watch it bounce is gross. Yet it gets the likes so people continue. Sadly this encourages the behavior when really we should discourage it.
I don't know how to solve the problem. And it is a problem. Those who try are insulted by the ignorant masses.
UPS does this too. If stuff falls out of a box and we cant find the box they destroy it. Apparently its a conflict of interest to allow employees to have it. I've seen them put 2 of these super high dollar matresses into a crushing machine. Fuckin bastards. I woulda slept tf out that bitch ya smell me? Shits crazy.
Yes, it's normal. I can't stand seeing anything that is still usable and that someone might want being destroyed. I can't even bring myself to throw out things like that and will offer them up to someone else if I no longer want or need them. It just seems like a waste to me.
And yes, that money could definitely be much more well spent. Technically, it's his right to do whatever he wants with his money and things, though.
Help the homeless?
Which ones.
people trying to escape bombings and poor economies.
Or lazy people in 1st world countries?
If your'e homeless in america.
Youve made a lifestyle choice.
I didn’t see anything of any value being tossed in there, just a bunch of colorful garbage products poor people buy. The headphone boxes were empty. I am more angry when someone leaves food on their plate at a restaurant.
He used his own money to buy that stuff though and it’s not like they’d donate the air pods to Africa
It doesn't make me sick but I am wondering what the point of trashing brand new goods would be.
If they need stuff to crush to make a video, surely there must be plenty of old, used, broken things they could scrounge up
This is crazy. Why is this happening? There are so many things that I think I need to get involved in and fix, and this video right here shows something that should stop being done. It is ridiculous.
My point is that the money spent on that stuff could have easily gone to the homeless. I mean seriously, it wouldn't be that out there to Guess that the cost would be in the thousands for the beats alone.
But the true value of those things is zero so it wouldn't help the homeless.
If it was beef, or food I would agree.
I am reminded of native americans accepting trinkets for land when I see this.
I get what you are saying but worthless crap is just worthless crap. More of a burden than anything of value.
