Is it normal that the ocean scares me?

the ocean is terrifying in my opinion, not only can you drown, but...it's also pretty mysterious. (kinda like space) anyways, the ocean is pretty deep, and the whole of every ocean will probably never be discovered. (because of water pressure) when the ocean gets deep enough, it becomes dark as night...we don't know what's down there...could be something none of us can ever dream of, we probably won't ever discover it either. this scares me. I mean...I don't ever plan on going scuba diving...but the fact that there could be monsters at the bottom of the ocean is...well...terrifying in my opinion.

It's is a very powerful place, it's beautiful and I would try to enjoy it more. The mystery can be frightening, but we know most everything within our pressure zone and have been utilizing the ocean forever. If there's a big scary monster down there, he's probably content much deeper than we can handle and I doubt after all these years he will decide to come up just to attack you. Don't live in fear the ocean is beautiful and as long as you respect it, nothing will happen to you.

I don't like swimming in it for exactly the same reason. I'm ok with swimming pools because you can see them, but when I go snorkelling with my family I get freaked out and even though the whole point of snorkelling is that you can breathe, I struggle to do so

I wouldn't say it scares me any more than a healthy fear should but I'm not exactly tryna go messing around in there too much at all!
