Is it normal that the decision to have a baby has taken 2 years and counting?

My husband and I have no obstacles to have a baby. We are a healthy 34 year old couple. We've been happily married for almost 8 years, we own a house, we have economic stability, we have no debt, we have family nearby who could help out, we have everything but a burning desire to reproduce. However, nature forces us to decide now the kind of family we might want for the rest of our lives. And once you decide you can't resign. Most people don't have a hard time with this life-changing decision and I cannot guess why.

This is so Normal, I have been struggling for 10 years and counting I'm getting close again.... But my reasons have always been combinations of your obstacles.

It's clear cut. There is no reason not to have kids, unless you don't want to have kids.

You are wasting your years on a decision you already made.

*Back-up Plan*(Come to terms with the idea of adoption, It's an Honourable cause. Adoption will give you the space to clear your head and make your decision.)

Not normal. If reproductive system of both partners is healthy and there are no genetic diseases running in family that would be of concern about well-being of a newborn then there is not point of such marriage. It's basically just two people living in one house mutually paying the bills and that's it.
