Is it normal that strangers often ask to hang out with me?

They're people that strike a conversation with me in public places like my job, the stores, the parks, etc. They seem to enjoyed the conversation with me. I don't know why when all I do is let them talk about themselves. On the occasions I do talk, it's all about food. They'll give me their number, ask for mine, and or ask to hang out again sometime.

Five years ago I would've loved this kind of attention since I rarely got it back then. These days I just kind of want to be left alone. I don't want to be rude so I never tell people that. Though I guess some of the people I've become friends with recently aren't so bad.

But, yeah, is it normal for strangers to want to hang out with me?

  • My brother is kind of like that. Introverted and mostly quiet but still attracts new friends with ease at random like that - people approaching him. I've no idea how. I think some people just have a natural good and trustworthy aura to them that draws people in, can also be your body language.
Nice quality in my opinion. It's not easy to make friends as an adult, for most people.

This happens because you naturally understand how to have a conversation with people. Most people like to talk about themselves, and finding someone who allows that is rare.

Thus, they are attracted to you. It's actually a huge complement.

Most people also after a bit get talked out about many things and then engage in more meaningful conversations.

Making long term friends (or a more serious relationshp) requires a lot more to be compatible than just a good person to talk to.

I'm sure that you will do great in life...
