  • My absolute favourite thing to do is to stand atop a hill, stare across the valley and imagine what it's looked like throughout history. It's such a powerful, indescribable feeling that I can't quite put my finger on. Is that what you mean?
This is why I find archaeology, paleontology and geology so fascinating.

    • Maybe, but perhaps I should have added the scary element to it. My mind sometimes drifts off to prehistoric monsters and what could have been a threat to our ancient ancestors. Nature is equal parts amazing and equal parts terrifying to me.

      • Above my home is a pre-roman road going through miles of moorland and peat bog. The fog comes in fast and if you stray off the path you can get very lost or sink in a bog. Before it was a real road, it was so easy for ancient travellers to stray off the path, wander into the fog and disappear. Many sank in the bogs. Every time I go up there my imagination goes crazy. It's like an overwhelming mixture of awe, anxiety, panic and wonder.

Sorry for possibly irrelevant ramble, it's too hard to describe ..
