Is it normal that so many people on this site don't believe i'm a female?

I just find it very funny that so many people don't think im a female.I do tend to think like a man sometimes so when i comment on a post i understand why its hard to tell what i am Haha and on top of that im supposed to somehow convince them all over the internet that im really a female.I honestly think its a trick to see me naked.I might just change my profile pic to a real picture of me,but if i did how would they know for sure it was me.Anyway is this normal? And shouldn't they be showing me proof about who they are too?

Reminds me of something I came across somewhere...
"Welcome to the Internet where men are men, women are men and kids are the FBI"
There has been or still is some truth to that which is why females have to prove themselves so much.

Yes i do feel like i have to prove myself.Which is pretty much impossible to do over the internet.

Eurgh when I used to be on this one chat room, people assumed I was a girl on occasion. The amount of guys who ask "asl? got a cam?" is just disturbing. Frankly I wouldn't want to prove I was a girl, if I was one.

I want to believe as gender on the internet to be a question mark at all times. Unless you have actually met before, i wouldn't feel the need to whether i was a male, female or transgender (see what i did there?) If your a woman, great. if you actually arent, well i told you so (lol). And if you just have masculine/feminine traits or thoughts then well, i think thats evolution coming into play. Im also drunk

Unless you want extra attention or recognition, there's really no need for anyone to HAVE to know your sex/gender so it's best to just leave it alone.

ALSO, FOR FUCK'S SAKE, AFTER PERIODS AND COMMAS YOU MUST PRESS THE SPACE BAR. THAT IS PROPER PUNCTUATION. YOUR PUNCTUATION, IT'S... it's making my brain itch :(

I think a lot of males on the internet have become very paranoid because of bad experiences they've had with other guys pretending to be girls so they tend to be very cautious. I also frequent a certain gamin forum and I'm always met with much skepticism when I let anyone know I'm female.

I don't like being addressed as a male. I prefer the proper pronouns (i.e. "she" or "her"). It does get a little tiresome at times trying to cut through all of the disbelief and paranoia. I understand where it stems from but it is annoying as all hell constantly trying to prove our gender to jaded males.

Just be yourself and if someone insists that you are a male and continues using male pronouns to address you (which I personally find very disrespectful), put them on ignore and move on.

I don't know, I think it has more to do with stereotypes and rumours than actual bad experiences. Men pretending to be women online would be at least as likely to target women as men, if not more so, yet you don't get that kind of skepticism from women.

How doesn't that make sense? I've come across men pretending to be bisexual or lesbian women looking for bisexual and lesbian women, as well as men pretending to be women in eating disorder communities and other mostly female online communities to try to get pictures from women there. There are also some men who fetishise disability who will pretend to be disabled women to get close to disabled women. It's creepy as fuck, honestly.

If you are going to pretend to be a female, don't try so hard. It is obvious. People don't think you are a guy if you simply think like a guy. I mean Wigz thinks like a guy. But they will think you are a guy if you talk about your vagina out of the blue multiple times a day. Plus we all know all of your accounts anyway.

It's never crossed my mind that you were male. For some reason a few people here have thought I was male, although I think it's fairly obvious that I'm not. It's easy enough to guess wrong, although if you've told people you're female and they still don't believe you, then I find that a bit strange (unless they have good reasons).

Counterfeit.Circus has a very good point, though. When people go out of their way to declare something about themselves it comes across as being suspicious. Sort of like over-compensating, I guess.

Well, it was just one of the possible reasons. I'm not sure why people don't believe you, so it's all just speculation, really. I can't always put my finger on why I feel suspicious of certain people; there's just something insincere about them. But, like I said, I've never thought you were male.

It doesn't matter to me what you are or aren't...

Hell, for over a year I have been pretending to be a 26 year old southern white boy. When the truth is I am a 67 year old black grandmother from Flint, Michigan. It is fun to pretend.

There are no women on the internet. But seriously, most guys when interacting with someone over the interent will assume them to be guys. because it is very rare to find women on forums (in my general opinion.

It's only in social networks where this is different.

Furthermore being female can be seen as an advantage because many people in a forum will be extra nice to the girl in hopes of that virtual pussy.

In addition i believe someone is a women, only when they start defending feminism. or talk about rape culture LOL
