Is it normal that people tell me their life story when i dont even ask?

I hate when people tell me about affairs their having, or other fucked up shit their doing, I'm all like 'baaah I don't wanna know!'

I think the people on the giving end should be asking if it's normal that they tell their life stories to people, ha ha.

I have people do this to me all the time. They just find you more approachable and less judgmental.

They may think confiding in you shows trust and is an opening to friendship, but it's really just poor judgement. A hand up and "TMI" and fleeing can sometimes be gotten away with.

Hmm, maybe your one of those people where they look at you and feel as if you'll accept them they feel that they can pour there heart to you and you won't push them away. You will ease their pain there are not many of those people in the world but you know your special because you have the ability to help them... I know someone like that she makes me want to tell her everything cry and cry and tell her everything and it feels like she'll accept me... I never went to her or anything even though we are friends and weve known each other for years because she makes me feel that way I'll never tell her anything haha isn't that ironic? she has that..I don't know how to explain it ..kind? warm? friend feeling? like you could care? You're probably like her you make others feel you would accept there past secrets and still you'd be there to smile, laugh and find a friend in you.

Yeh I've noticed that happens with me too. It's annoying I mean I'm sure they want to get it out but to tell someone so easily I'm like ok... I don't go out telling people what's happening in my life that easily, even my friends, it would be like I'm assuming that they actually care, which is just self-important

Most humans are just naturally narcissistic asshats. They don't care if you ask or not; they WILL tell you what they think. And don't forget we live in an era of social networking which has made this flaw in people even worse. If you don't like it then do like me and largely withdraw from socializing.

I'm the same. I know everyone's deepest darkest secrets yet some people I've known for many years don't even know my surname. I love people and I just keep asking about them rather than talk about myself.

People tend to do that to me quite a bit too. It helps them overcome their problems when they turn it into something casual, but I'm very interested to hear from others as to why as I have been wondering this myself. Maybe you have good interpersonal skills, or act in a welcoming manner. I've been told that I do.
