It's not a new phenomenon really. People have always thought the past is much better than the present. I clearly remember that in the 90s, people thought the 70s were superior to the 90s and in the 70s, people thought the 50s were superior to the 70s. In 20 years, people will be talking about how great the 2010s were. It seems ridiculous to us now, but just wait.
