Is it normal that noises give me really bad anxiety at night?

At night, noises like someone opening a door don't give me anxiety. But noises like my phone vibrating or my laptop making a notification sound almost put me on the verge of tears. Is this normal?

What about the sound of your doorbell ringing? I hate that sound!

Ha, I do too. I hate that someone nowadays has the nerve to stand right outside my door for an unannounced visit.

I remember when I was a kid and no one wanted to answer the door, we'd all whisper and be really quiet (my parents included) 'til the person left.

I also can't stand people who have the nerve to call from a blocked number. Whatever they want don't mean shit to me if they can't let me know who they are.

Don't you know it's very detrimental to your sleep quality to have electronic devices turned on near you in your bedroom, especially if the bluescreen is turned on?

    • I have very bad insomnia anyways so its hard to get to sleep unless I feel like I'm actually about to pass out. But when I go to bed I turn everything off. I can't sleep unless it's pitch black

If they're turned off how come your phone vibrates and your hear notifications on your laptop? That doesn't make sense.

If you have insomnia you need to stop looking at any screens for about an hour before you go to bed.

I mean, my laptop screen is off and my phone is charging beside my bed.

Try charging it in a different room

Some people can't help their insomnia though.

Naybe, but there are usually things they can do about it and I've found some people seem almost proud of it or at least regard it as permanent and nothing can be done, which isn't necessarily true.

I sometimes scream if something makes me jump at night, the neighbours must hate me.
