    I didn’t take her seriously enough I suppose. She’s my wife so I have to respect her wishes and support her.

      Why? How is that a thing? What if she cheats on you with a guy? Do you still have to respect and support her wishes? I can't understand this respect thing. That only works when you are comfortable with those wishes, which you seem not to be.
